The Man Behind The WPDiary
Do You believe in the “Connecting the Dots Theory” of Steve Jobs?
If not, you might after reading the dots of my life.
Hey WP people, I’m Hans Patel – Founder of WPDiary & here’s my story…
• Social Activities in College
In 2018, during my second year of college, my friend and I began organizing social activities.
We shared photos of these events on our Instagram accounts, and to our surprise, fellow students started reaching out, eager to join us in our next endeavors.
With so many requests and an emerging group, We created an Instagram page and gave our group a name.
While doing all these activities, We came to know about CSR and how one can be a social entrepreneur.
• Started a Non-Profit Organisation
We registered a Non-Profit Organization (NPO) and started taking things seriously, officially doing social activities.
That’s when we needed a website. We didn’t want to spend our limited funds on it. Then we found out that you could create websites easily without coding using WordPress. Curious, I learned WordPress and made a basic site for our NPO.
• A Successful Failure
With some small wins and support, we secured our first CSR project. We thought this was our career path. However, it’s a successful failure story for another day.
In short, Despite our best efforts, we couldn’t make things work with the NPO.
• Partial Failure & WordPress
We then ventured into another business—facility management—and of course, again I created a website for it using WordPress.
However, this too became a partial failure. We are still in the game, but it is not generating enough income for both of us to survive.
So, I took a job and started freelancing by creating WordPress websites.
• WordCamp 2023 & Kuldeep
However, my entrepreneurial spirit was now pushing me to build a product or a startup around WordPress, but I needed to figure out what to do.
This changed when I went to one of the WordCamp’s and met Kuldeep Rathore who is a blogger & affiliate marketer & loves to writes about Elementor on his personal blog.
What an inspiring individual!
During our conversation, he shared a quote that resonated deeply with me:
• Born of MyWPDiary
This insight was a turning point.
This insight was a turning point. I began documenting and publishing my WordPress learning, and that’s how MyWPDiary was born.
Soon after, I brought Kuldeep on board as co-founder as our vision aligned. Also, his smart mind will help shape the blog and grow our WP tribe.
At first, our goal was to make money, but we soon realized how much we love exploring WordPress and writing about our experiences.
Now, we just care about publishing our work and helping fellow WordPress enthusiasts with simple and concise guides.
Of course, money matters. We don’t know if this blog will be financially successful, but we believe this dot will lead us to a better future with WordPress. Along the way, we’ll keep sharing our WordPress learnings here.
